Rolling 9-11 Memorial |
At 03:58 AM 5/21/2004, you wrote: Hello, My name is Raymond Lightbourn. I just read an email sent to me by a Navy buddy of mine that I served with for 15 months in Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, and Iraq about the Rolling 911 Memorial. I just got back from the Middle East as a recalled reservist. It was and is a pleasure to serve in the US military to defend our country and to free people from a dictator who sought to kill and abuse people that only wanted freedom. This truck has a special meaning for me. My sister, Samantha Allen-Lightbourn, was killed in the Pentagon on 9-11. I want the owners of that vehicle to know how grateful I am that they have all of the names and spirits of the brave people who gave their life rolling around this great country to continue thier legacy and love and that the United States of America will never be defeated by hate and terriorism but that freedom and democracy will always last in this great land of ours. If you can please forward this email to the owners and send my love to them it would be greatly appreciated. GOD BLESS AND KEEP ON TRUCKING. Sincerly, Raymond B. I just received an e-mail with the truck on it and am blown away! I work about 6 blocks north of the Towers and was here on 9-11, it still breaks my heart! My friend Chuck Murphy who worked for Cantor was killed that horrible day and this is a great thing you have done. If your taking any donations please let me know, I would be more than willing to help pay for this fabulous idea! Happy trucking and I hope to see you come down the streets of New York someday! Subject: Add_Thanks_to_911 I was just sent an e-mail about the Rolling 9-11 Memorial. Being a flight attendant myself, I am just so moved by this. I was actually on my way to LGA to work a flight on the day of 9/11 and saw the second plane hit the towers. I was with the whole crew and needless to say...sat in silence. Our thoughts of course were with the flight crew and passengers, then of the many victims of the Trade Center. It was awhile before we heard of the other planes, and when we did, all we could think of was what these people must have gone through and wondered of their thoughts. I want to thank you for this memorial page and hopefully you will pass this along to John and Amy Holmgren. It seems that the flight crews and passengers, the first victims, were never really mentioned in all the news, articles, etc.. This is a wonderful Tribute to them! They were the first victims and to me, our Hero's. Of course, everyone that lost their life that day, is truely a hero. But this is a wonderful way to honor and tribute those first victims, my fellow crew members and passengers. Finally, someome has done something to remember "ALL" that lost their lives that terrible day. I am sure the families and loved ones of each and every name on that truck are so proud that their loved ones are so wonderfully and tastefully honored. And with this memorial, we will not forget! Hello Very Special People, I am from West Orange, NJ, home of the Eagle Rock Reservation 911 Memorial, (A wonderful site). Photo's of your truck were sent to me by email by a friend. My husband and I are cubmasters of West Orange Pack 106 and also involved with Northern New Jersey Council Orange Mountain District. I was dreaming that you would come to Eagle Rock Reservation one day to pay tribute to so many lives that were lost in this area. Your truck would move this neighborhood like never before. What an inspiration. Someone who didn't know the son, or daughter, or wife or husband, or father or mother of someone they loved and their name was put upon your truck. How special and touched they would feel to see such a sight. I know you must be so very busy but I hope one day you will come to West Orange, NJ and visit us with your special gift not only for the hurting in this area but for the cub scouts of Orange Mountain, many of whom saw the towers falling. God Bless You! You are Wonderful With Love, Cathy Lee
Subject: Add_Thanks_to_911 I can't tell you what it means to see that true Americans are still standing proud and refuse to let our memories die of that dreadful day. This is a beautiful tribute to those who gave their lives that day. I have never felt such fear as when I was watching the TV that morning and saw the second plane fly into the trade towers. I hope to meet you or see the truck someday. I want my grandchildren to see the wonderful thing you've done. Sincerely, Kalyn Thomas

Subject: Add_Thanks_to_911 The Rig is possibly the most patriotic symbol I've ever seen, it's purely a tribute to all that perished in the 9-11 tragedy, keep it "ROLLING" and thanks much. Dick Seebode

Subject: Add_Thanks_to_911 I really appreciate this site. It is a beautiful way to remember our fellow americans who have fought and died in this war. It was a really terrible tragedy for those who have lost to go through. My hat goes off to those of you that saved as many as you could. You are also our heroes. May god bless each and every one of you. There is another song that many need to think about too, and it is the one by She' Daisy "Come Home Soon." We need to pray that the ones that are fighting now will really come home soon. Many thanks for the special memories you have given to everyone by this memorial. Sincerely Vivian Bozeman of Lexington, Ga.
Subject: Add_Thanks_to_911 Hi, My name is Jenny Harrison and although I had luckily no connection with any person so tragically affected by the horrific events of 9/11 from here in Australia, I was working at the time in a small westerly town in South Australia and the whole office stood still just horrified by what was going on in your country in front of our eyes. It just never seemed possible that such an act could be perpetrated against innocent people in the name of religion! Although it came out later that some Australians were among those lost, I truly think more than just lives were lost. I believe that innocence and trust in fellow human kind was if not lost, than sorely tried and this was not God's plan for us as preached in what ever religion you follow. Although I do not know the Tenants of all religions , I am positive that the sanctity of human life is paramount to all. My heart goes out to all who lost their lives on that tragic day, and to the many families affected in any way by this event, and my prayers are with them always. I want to say a special WEll DONE to the couple who have produced this rolling tribute to all the victims, and to let them know it is seen in many parts of the world, so in some small way it is getting the message of peace and hope out to the world. Yours in faith, Jenny Harrison Adelaide, South Australia
Subject: Add_Thanks_to_911 Hi. Not sure if this is the exact truck I saw parked at the walmart in st.croix falls,wi on 10/10/04. What an absolute beautiful tribute this is. I am writing as my aunt was part of a committe to make a tribute quilt. The quilt will be on display at turtle lake school on 10/16 and 10/17 there is also a train show going on there too. The quilt will be part of a memorial to be placed at ground zero behind glass. I thought maybe you may be interested in seeing it and also bringing the rolling memorial along for people to see. There will be victims families there also to see the quilt. again it will be at turtle lake school in turtle lake,wi on 10/16 and 10/17/04 . thanks! jennifer roettger

Subject: Add_Thanks_to_911 I would like to commend you on your wonderful efforts, hard work, well spent money, kind compassion, heart feltness, and everything in the making of this truck. I was amazed when I recieved it in my e-mail. Then having gone to the site, even more amazed. It is great to see someone not think of making a profit but only want to do something great in the memory of those whom have lost their lives on 9/11. I wish the government and state could do the same when they finally decide what to place in the replacement where the buildings once stood tall. To put aside themselves and the all mighty dollar. To think only of the one's whom lost their lives that dreadful day. You have done a wonderful thing here!!! I hope you continue to keep your truck rolling for the world to see! Do you accept donations if people would like to help you pay for the loan you had to take out to do this wonderful thing?? I would be honored to send a donation. May God Bless you and yours always!!! ===== Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference. ~Chippy~
